This is one of the beautiful and overwhelming spots in Palawan. Declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site, this natural wonder is an 8.2 kilometer, navigable underground river reputed to be the world’s longest that winds through caves of rugged limestone and marbles cliffs, mineral formations taking “natural” shapes of people, animals and cathedrals.

To reach the underground river from Ulugan Bay, you can either take a one-hour jeep ride for 40 pesos or rent a private boat (good for six people) for 1,200 pesos, with travel time of one and half hours. There’s an entrance fee of 200 pesos to equip tourist with life vest and miner’s hats.

Towards the northern part of the province lie more playgrounds of beaches, towering cliffs, rock formations and picturesque lagoons. Photo Credit: Novellsteel
